Fairway employees gather for an AWI event with a large checkFairway Independent Mortgage Corporation partnered with the American Warrior Initiative (AWI) to hold an event in the Columbia, South Carolina area to honor a local veteran and ROTC organization. As part of this event, the Fairway branch held a residential housing “boot camp” to train real estate professionals and mortgage planners on how to best handle the home-purchase needs of active duty military members and veterans.

The first honoree was a U.S. Marine veteran who was awarded a $10,000 grant to help him and his family. Fairway and AWI gave a grant of $3,000 to the Spring Valley High School JROTC Color Guard to fund equipment for their state champion drill team.

Co-founded by Louise Thaxton and Sean Parnell, the American Warrior Initiative is a non-profit organization sponsored by Fairway Independent Mortgage. AWI seeks to ease U.S. veterans’ transition from military to civilian life.

I am proud to work for a company that does so much to honor those who sacrifice for our country. If I can help answer any questions about VA loans or any other home loan options, please give me a call.
